Privacy Policy
Last updated September 9, 2026 · Applies to the Allergy Travel App (currently in private beta)
Your child's health information is sensitive, and we treat it that way. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and how you can control it. It applies to the Allergy Travel App.
What we collect
- Account & contact details: parent/guardian name, email address, phone number, country, and preferred language.
- Child profile information: a child's name or nickname, date of birth, allergies, reaction severity, allowed/avoided ingredients, related medical conditions, and any personal notes you add.
- Trip & scan data: travel destinations, photos or images of menus and product labels you scan, and the results of those scans.
- Basic usage data: error and crash reports that help us fix problems.
Why we collect it
- To generate your child's allergy profile and emergency allergy cards.
- To review travel destinations and scan menus or products against that profile.
- To improve the accuracy of our scanning and review features.
- To contact you about your account or, if you've opted in separately, for feedback and product updates.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. To provide the app's core features, information is processed by two service providers acting on our behalf:
- Supabase — securely stores your account and profile data.
- Google AI (Gemini API) — processes menu/product images and text to generate scan results and destination reviews. This processing may take place outside your home country.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you and your child at any time. We'll respond within 30 days. Note: because this app is in a closed beta, a full deletion request will also end your beta access; we may keep fully anonymized data (with no identifying details) to improve the service.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you're actively using the app, and for up to 12 months afterward, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Medical disclaimer
The app's scans, reviews, and allergy-card content are generated using AI and are provided as a supportive tool only — not medical advice or a substitute for consulting a doctor, allergist, or dietitian. Always verify food safety directly with restaurant or venue staff.
Children's information
The app is used by parents and legal guardians to manage information about their own children. It is not directed at children, and children are not expected to use it directly or create their own accounts.

If we make material changes to how we handle your information, we'll update this page and, where required, ask for your renewed consent in the app.
